Real Life Ready Contest
VOID IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC (CANADA) AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW OR REGULATION
The Real Life Ready Contest (the “Contest”) begins on or about [Monday, August 22, 2016 at 8:00 AM CST (Central Standard Time)] and ends on or about [November 11, 2016 at 11:59 PM (Central Standard Time) (the “Contest Period”). The Contest is being conducted by Monsanto Canada ULC (“Sponsor”).
Contest is open to individuals who: (a) have or open a valid, public Twitter account (an “Account”). If they do not have an Account, they can visit www.twitter.com and register in accordance with the enrollment instructions for a Twitter account (accounts are free, but are subject to the Twitter terms of service); and (b) are legal Canadian residents (excluding Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in their province of jurisdiction at time of entry. Employees, officers or directors of Sponsor, its affiliates and/or subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agents, or those residing with the foregoing are not eligible to enter.
No purchase necessary. Each day during the Contest Period, enter by tweeting a photograph that depicts what “Real Life Ready” means to you in an agricultural setting (ie. Sitting in the swather during canola harvest, eating a meal out in the field with family, taking off a corn field, having a drink with friends after a long day’s work on the farm, kicking your boots up after a hard day’s work, etc.) and that complies with these Official Rules (an “Entry”). To be a valid Entry, your tweet must: (a) tag “@Genuity_Canada”; (b) include the hashtags “#RealLifeReady” and “#Contest”; (c) include a photo that meets the criteria stated above; and (d) comply with all Twitter Terms of Service, Twitter Rules and these Official Rules, including without limitation the Submission Guidelines set out below, and Twitter’s character limitations for a single tweet. If entering via a wireless mobile device using your wireless carrier’s network, standard charges from your wireless carrier may apply. All tweets must comply with all conditions stated in these rules to be a valid Entry, but actual Entries will not be judged.
There is no limit to the number of times each entrant can tweet during the Contest Period, however, each tweet must contain a different photograph and comply with these Official Rules. An entrant that submits duplicate or multiple tweets that contain the identical photograph, even if using different accounts, will be disqualified from the Contest. Incomplete or illegible Entries will not be considered. Entries will be void if electronically or mechanically reproduced, forged, defective, altered or obtained through unauthorized channels or it they contain production, typographical, electronic, mechanical, or other errors. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time which, in Sponsor’s opinion, is offensive, contains unsuitable material, endangers the safety or well-being or any person, or if it is determined the entrant has not complied with these Official Rules. An entrant’s tweet may be retweeted by @Genuity_Canada to promote the contest, however, retweeting will have no impact on the selection of prize winners.
The photograph included in entrant’s tweet (hereinafter referred to as the “Photograph”) must be on topic, original and created by entrant. Entrant must have the permission of all other individuals that appear in entrant’s Photograph. If requested, entrant must be able to provide such permissions to Sponsor in a form acceptable to Sponsor. The Photograph must not be libelous, defamatory, obscene, hateful, pornographic, abusive, illegal, violent, threatening or otherwise defamatory toward Sponsor or any other group or individual; contain materials that violates or infringes another’s rights; or contain any other content that is or could be considered inappropriate, offensive, slanderous or libelous, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Photograph must not include or feature any brands, trademarks or creative works owned by anyone other than Sponsor or entrant. By entering, entrant warrants and represents that he or she is the sole and exclusive owner of the Photograph, that the Photograph does not infringe on any rights of any third parties, and that all aspects of the Entry conforms to these Official Rules.
Sponsor will conduct three separate prize drawings on or about the following dates:
- Thursday, September 22, 2016 (selected from all qualified entries received by Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at [11:59 PM CST ])
- Monday, October 24, 2016 (selected from all qualified entries received by Friday, October 21, 2016 at [11:59 PM CST)
- Monday, November 14, 2016 (selected from all qualified entries received by Friday, November 11, 2016 at [11:59 PM CST ])
Four (4) potential winners will be chosen at random in each drawing. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received by each of the drawing dates. Entries not chosen during each drawing will remain in the pool of entries for the next drawing.
Each confirmed winner will receive a Visa® gift card in the amount of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) each (individually, the “Prize”). The Prize is not transferable and no substitutions are allowed. Within forty-eight (48) hours after each drawing, each potential winner will be contacted by direct tweet on Twitter. If the potential winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within seven (7) days of the first notification attempt, is found to be ineligible, does not comply with these Official Rules or declines to accept the Prize, such potential winner may be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion, and in such case Sponsor may select an alternate winner in a random drawing from remaining eligible entries.
To be an actual winner, that person must correctly answer a skill-testing question, in the form of a mathematical equation, that will be administered at the time of winning notification via direct message, and must be in compliance with these Official Rules. The Prize will be sent by Canada Post to the Canadian mailing address provided by the winner with twenty-four (24) hours of receipt from the winner.
By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Entrant further agrees that Sponsor, including its agents, representatives and those associated with them may communicate with entrant regarding his or her participation in the Contest via Twitter, electronic message or otherwise. These Official Rules are subject to change without notification at Sponsor’s sole discretion. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned by reason of, and not limited to, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other cause that Sponsor or its agents deem could corrupt or affect the administration, fairness or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, modify, suspend or terminate the Contest and select the winners from among the eligible entries received prior to the action, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations.
Sponsor, including agents, representatives and those associated with it, is not responsible for any entry, Prize winning notification or the claim for Prize, which is lost, misdirected or which arrives late, as the case my be, whether or not due to the fault of Sponsor or of any other person or thing.
By entering, each entrant agrees to hold harmless Sponsor, participating sponsors, and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agencies from any liability whatsoever, and waive and release such parties from any and all causes of action, for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional) arising out of or in connection with the event or acceptance, possession, or use/misuse of any prize, participation in any promotion-related activity, or participation in the promotion, whether under a theory of contract, torts (including, without limitation, negligence), warranty, or any other theory or cause of action.
